The book that you see on the right was made for a 'Leonie'. The customer asked me to do something with a lion. So I designed this lino cut which is printed on the front cover. This is a case bound book, with edge coloring and with a magnetic closure.
The book on the left was commissioned for a specific purpose: as a recipe book.
Because it is important that it stays opened during use it is bound in a coptic style, and to better
protect it from dirt it has a concertina at the spine. This is a strip of folded paper that covers
the whole spine so that no dirt gets from outside into the pages through the spine, for example when
it is lying on a dirty table.
Furthermore it has a pocket attached to the back cover and two bookmark ribbons.
As you can imagine that depends on what exactly you want to have, what materials and techniques
you want to have included.
